What is the Meaning of Life?

If life has no meaning or purpose then we would assume that all the things that surround us have no meaning or purpose either.

If on the other hand we are surrounded by things that have meaning and purpose we have to ask the question WHY?

Common everyday observation of nature shows us that plant life is dependant on the sun, the rain and the light just for starters.

Animal life is also dependant on the plant life, the weather, water and other animals of its own kind for survival.

The cycle of evaporation of water and it's falling as rain shows wonderful organization and purpose.

The sun, moon and stars in their predictable orbit and their perfect location in relation to the earth show wonderful wisdom.

We are so sure of the order of the sky that we can steer ships by the stars, we can tell when a comet will return, we tell years in advance what the position of each planet will be on any given day.

Every day we look at the sky and can tell by the clouds what sort of weather to expect.

These are just a few examples to show the connected nature of things around us. They speak eloquently of the existence of someone or something who is in control of all these functions.

We relate to the universe in all our activities. We love beautiful scenery. We are awestruck by magnificent waterfalls, towering mountain ranges, deep canyons, huge rock outcrops and countless other wonders of nature.

The vast array of animal and bird life which are a constant source of wonder and amazement and the teeming life of the seas point to order not chaos.

The beauty and order and diversity point to an intelligent being-God.

We are told in The Bible that we are without excuse if we ignore God, because we are surrounded by the evidence.
Romans ch 1 v 18-20 says,      "For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, because what may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them. For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse."
